Launch of Value of the Person into Europe

"VALUE OF THE PERSON" these words express the core of human need - to be valued.

Sadly the word LOVE is virtually meaningless in our society - but the word VALUE is understood, and NOT being valued at work, in the home and in society is an experience felt by many.

Since 1973 Wayne Alderson has been fulfilling a Dream of introducing the concepts of Love, Dignity and Respect into the workplace across the USA. His Theory R® Management states that you do not have to "incentivise" people with carrots and sticks, people want to do a good job. What is needed is to do things because they are Right, to build better Relationships in the workplace. To do this requires Reconciliation, and this is not limited to either management or employees, everybody needs to take the initiative, to take Responsibility. People working together on doing the right things and doing them better and better brings Results - tangible as well as intangible.

The Dream ...

We believe that the time is right to develop this Dream . We are launching a major international initiative to develop and market a management model for the new millennium. A workplace where people experience being valued as of right is the essence of such a vision. A workplace where there are opportunities to develop each person's potential in non-judgmental and loving ways.

Our Dream is to take the Value of the Person message throughout the world, positively impacting on organisations through people. These people will experience being valued as of right, set free to contribute to society in new and exciting ways.

Why does Europe need Value of the Person?

The reality of personal experience in the workplace, the family and in society at large reveals irrefutable evidence that many people have a limited experience, if any, of "being valued".

The reality of business performance. New evidence clearly demonstrates that unless a person "experiences" being valued at work they cannot give of their best. This research, for the first time, has given hard measurement of the difference that it makes in terms of profitability, productivity, customer and employee satisfaction. Recent results produced by Gallup, based on 25 years' research, once and for all gives the hard evidence that a work force having such an experience will produce better results and better customer satisfaction.

The Gallup Organisation published these results in 1998 based on research into thousands of organisations. They discovered twelve key questions that correlate how people feel about their workplace to measurable business performance. This research is the basis of the book "First Break all the Rules" published by Simon & Schuster and was fourth top selling business book in the USA in 1999.

European organisations facing unpresidented change and new pressures need to develop a model of a new workplace. A workplace where the whole person is valued. Where the individuality and creativity of the whole person is valued. Organisations where the individuality of customers is valued. Places of work where there is sufficient trust and care for people to venture new ideas, try new ways, be vulnerable.
